The Heineys began their ministry in the mission field as Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod missionaries in Ghana from 1984 to 1994. They later relocated to Guinea to work with refugees from Liberia and Sierra Leone in establishing an indigenous Guinea church.
After serving in West Africa for 19 years, the Heineys returned to the United States for family reasons. Tim continued to make trips to Guinea four times a year, doing leadership training and leading volunteer trips for the Kansas District. The family returned to Guinea in December of 2005. In 2009, they transitioned to working out of eastern Guinea, where the rest of the LCMS team was based.
Beth served as the project manager and volunteer coordinator for the field. They returned to the United States in 2013 and in late 2014 returned to Guinea to serve as missionaries with Global Lutheran Outreach.
Tim is a native of Michigan and Beth a native of New York. They have four adult children.
