Evenings of Advent

Wednesdays, December 4, 11, 18

Wednesday evenings we will have intergenerational fellowship, a meal and an activity from 5:30-7:00pm. Each week, we will discover the people from Jesus' family through the Jesse's Tree. The name "Jesse Tree" is taken from Isaiah 11:1, in which Jesus is referred to as a shoot coming up from the stump of Jesse. The activity will be a small group discussion and making ornaments for the Jesse Tree. Advent worship services will follow.

THe Giving Tree

The Giving Tree provided a way for people to help others in need during Christmas. The trees are up and are located in the gym and in the church Narthex. The trees are up November 24 through December 15.

The trees provide three ways to give:

  1. Bethesda - Gifts for people supported by Bethesda Lutheran Communities. Shepherd of the Hills demonstrates their love and support of residents of Bethesda with gift cards.  Gifts are due back to Shepherd by December 8.
  2. Fleece Navidad - Gifts for residents of the Rowan Community. Residents of Rowan Community who have suffered long term neurological disorders and are often without family support receive gifts of warmth and love through fleece outfits. Items are due back to Shepherd by December 15.
  3. Angel Tree - Gifts provided through the Salvation Army to brighten Christmas for those in need. Gifts are due back by December 15.
